October 5, 2015 - By: Danbury-Seniors
October is National Dental Hygiene month and we would like to emphasize how important dental health and hygiene is to a senior’s overall well-being. Dental health is a large concern for seniors who find the cost prohibitive, leading them to let dental health care fall by the way side. This may cause both major and minor health issues, some of which are potentially serious. Some examples being, darkened teeth, dry mouth, root decay, gum disease, and tooth loss. We encourage older adults to seek out dental care at area public health clinics such as the Seifert and Ford Family Health Clinic here in Danbury. This dental clinic has received a small grant from a foundation to provide subsidized dental care to older adults. Detailed information about participating in the grant is below:
Danbury Hospital’s Seifert and Ford Family Health Clinic, located at 70 Main Street, Danbury has received a grant to provide subsidized dental care to older adults. Details of the grant and how to be a grant recipient are below.
