Join historial Art Gottlieb as he presents and lectures about the famous movie, “The Best Years of Our Lives. This is the 1946, 7 time Academy award winning movie by Sameul Goldwyn. The movie follows the difficulties faced by 3 US servicemen who are abruptly returned to civilian life after years of wartime service.

Author Jana Milbocker will speak about gardens selected from her book located in New England, the Hudson River Valley in New York, eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She’ll share historic information, overviews of each garden’s design, their unique features and horticulture, along with recommendations on the best times to visit. Copies of her book “The Garden Tourist” will be available for purchase and signing.
Most gardeners know pruning is an important task but most lack the confidence needed for the
task. This basic introduction will cover pruning of common evergreens, deciduous trees, and shrubs.
Topics to be covered:
– why we procrastinate with pruning;
– pruning goals of shaping, removing damage, and size control;
– why, when, and how to trim plants, and
– the right tools for the job.
