Join Western Connecticut State University Professor and theater historian Dr. Donald Gagnon for a fascinating presentation on Black Broadway trailblazers and the history of Black musicals on Broadway; From Porgy & Bess to The Wiz and beyond this presentation takes a look at the incredible work and achievements of Black performers, creators, designers, directors, and more that have all woven into the fabric of where Broadway is today.

Kelly will join us for a presentation entitled ‘Your Life, Your Legacy’. Most of us plan for important life events, such as weddings, our children’s education and retirement. But few of us prepare for the inevitable. This fast-moving program addresses the importance of making your final arrangements in advance and the steps to take. This session provides attendees with information on planning as well as resources for learning more. There will be an interactive Q&A after the program.

Fall Prevention Workshop on Tuesday, February 13th at 2:30pm.
The Elmwood Hall Danbury Senior Center will be hosting a fall prevention workshop courtesy of Nuvance Health on Tuesday Feb. 13th @ 2:30pm. This workshop is FREE and open to all senior center members ages 60+. Membership to Danbury Senior Center is also FREE.
What should I expect from the program? If you want to stay in your home as long as possible, you certainly do not want to fall and risk an injury. Most serious falls occur in and around the home, and can be life-changing. To help maintain your independence, it’s important to understand the ways you can protect yourself from falls. Some simple precautions can ensure safety and reduce your risk of accidents at home. This program will offer tips and strategies to help you avoid falls.
This program will be presented by Carey Clarkson, Injury Prevention Coordinator, Trauma Center at Danbury Hospital, Nuvance Health.
