Most gardeners know pruning is an important task but most lack the confidence needed for the
task. This basic introduction will cover pruning of common evergreens, deciduous trees, and shrubs.
Topics to be covered:
– why we procrastinate with pruning;
– pruning goals of shaping, removing damage, and size control;
– why, when, and how to trim plants, and
– the right tools for the job.
A list of books and other recommended resources will be provided.
