Connecticut’s Legislative Commission on Aging, together with the Connecticut Chapter of the American Planning Association and the Capitol Region Council of Governments, conducted a statewide survey to learn what residents have to say about how communities can best prepare to support residents’ needs across the lifespan. In doing so, they leveraged an existing national tool, created by the American Planning Association.
“Housing is fundamental to community stability, health outcomes, and economic growth. The Commission recognizes that policy innovations that support housing affordability, community walkability, choice and other needs will benefit the growing number of older adults in Connecticut as well people of all ages” said Julia Evans Starr, Executive Director.
