We would like to make you aware of a new program called ArrayRx that the State of CT is launching to give seniors and others new discounts on prescription drugs. Recently, an article on the program appeared in The News-Times. The article was written by Michael Gagne and titled ‘CT’s ArrayRx card offering prescription drug discounts fits with Danbury pharmacy’s mission”.
An excerpt from the article:
“Connecticut, in offering the program, joined Oregon, Washington and Nevada, in the multi-state-run effort to reduce drug costs. As of early December 13,000 individuals statewide signed up for the program. They include around 250 enrollees from Danbury.
State lawmakers approved the ArrayRX program during the last legislative session. It is essentially a prescription discount card, which can’t be combined with health insurance. So far 98 percent of pharmacies in the state accept it, including major retail pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens, and smaller independent stores, like Main Street Pharmacy. Officials say the program will help reduce the costs of medications for individuals who either do not have health insurance, or who are underinsured and have health care plans with high deductibles.”
