The Danbury Library is seeking residents to record their personal stories about Danbury for its Oral History Project.
“We are looking for Danbury residents to share a brief story about their family, their love of Danbury, or their history in this city,” explains Danbury Library Executive Director Katie Pearson. “We believe the voices and experiences of Danbury residents weave a rich tapestry and we hope to capture that within this project.”
Stories will be recorded in Studio 170, located on the second floor of the Library and archived and maintained as part of the Library’s permanent digital collection to be available to future generations. A short portion of the project will be presented and made public on the Library’s website in June as one of the Library’s 150th Anniversary events.
If you are interested in sharing your story, appointments are available Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 1 to 6:30 p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by calling 203-797-4505, ext. 7739.
